A specificity of Chinese leadership… the influence of family culture within companies

The Chinese way of management is shaking up our habits.

I share today a new specificity of Chinese leadership… 👉 … the influence of family culture within companies. 💡

This is one of the main lessons I learned from China in terms of personnel management. And this is what I miss the most outside China > the family spirit in companies 💪 Chinese managers are very good at creating emotional bonds within their companies. They are more inclined to deal directly with people and align them emotionally with their vision for the future.

In the West, our criteria are quite different. Intellectual capacity recognized by appropriate diplomas and experience are THE criteria for choosing our employees. Efficiency takes precedence over the emotional dimension, which is increasingly neglected. 🙄

In China, placing someone you know and trust in a key position can be a prevailing recruitment criterion.

➡️ This way of creating strong bonds within teams, and between leaders and their employees, is an inspiration for talent management in multinationals operating in and outside China. Were you aware of this aspect of Chinese business culture?
